Veterinary Technicians

Maryon
Having been with Clearwater Veterinary Centre since 1999, Maryon is considered to be the rock of the practice. She is steadfast and calm no matter how hectic the practice gets. She hails from Rocky and says she didn't choose a career in veterinary medicine - it chose her because it was such a natural fit. Maryon graduated from NAIT in 1983 with her Diploma in Animal Health Technology. Maryon is a past board member of Alberta Association of Animal Health Technologists and past vice president of Canadian Association of AHT's. She has also been the recipient of the AAAHT recognition award twice, a NAIT alumni award and was named AHT of the Year by CAAHT. Maryon is married with 2 children and, although they have moved out, she hopes to have grandchildren soon. In her free time, Maryon enjoys hiking out west, cross country skiing and spending time with her family.

Laura
Laura hails from Edmonton, Alberta, where she grew up attending a local summer camp here in Rocky Mountain House and fell in love with the small town atmosphere and the mountains close by. She graduated from Olds College from the Animal Health Technology program in 2014, and after completing her practicum at the Clearwater Veterinary Centre, was excited to be accepted on as full time staff. Some of Laura's interests here at the clinic includes anything involving large animal, geriatric care, caring for any hospitalized patients and emergency care.

In her free time, Laura enjoys riding her horses, camping out west during the summer, hiking, snowboarding during the winter, spending time out at her family cottage and playing with her dogs Enzo and Missy.

Tina
After graduating from the animal health technology program in Fairview, Alberta in 2011 Tina worked in a mixed animal practice in northern Alberta for a few years. She ventured south in 2014 and has been a part of the Clearwater Veterinary Centre since then. Tina enjoys the mix of large and small animal work that the clinic offers, as well as the wonderful people and pets that we get to help. Tina doesn't get to spend as much time at the clinic as she used to, as she is busy with her growing family, but her love for the job keeps her around. When she's here, she enjoys helping your pets through their surgeries by getting them ready for the procedures and monitoring their anesthetic, helping the Veterinarians with appointments, and anything to do with cattle. In her spare time, Tina enjoys hiking, fishing, quading, camping, and all the outdoor things that the West country has to offer.
Jordyn
Jordyn was raised on a dairy then beef operation near Rimbey, Alberta. She attended Lakeland College-Vermillion Campus and graduated in 2021. She completed her practicum at Clearwater Vet and was excited to take a full time job close to her family home.

Jordyn is passionate about all animals but particularly has a soft spot for beef cows, particularly past 4-H cows. Jordyn enjoys and is interested in large animal medicine and anesthesia. In her free time, you can find Jordyn spending time with her cat Tobi, camping, and hanging out with her small herd of black simmentals. Feebee -while not a black simmental, is a past 4-H cow and one of Jordyn’s favourite pets!

Rebecca
Rebecca grew up just outside of Rocky and has always had a strong connection and love for animals. She attended Lakeland College in Vermillion where she completed the Animal Health Technology program and graduated in 2022. She has interest in both small and large animals so the variety of working in a mixed practice is perfect.

In her free time, Rebecca loves spending time with her animals, going camping/traveling, hanging out with friends and playing music with different instruments.

Micah
Micah grew up with a love for animals of all shapes and sizes, and always knew she wanted to work with them. She graduated from the Veterinary Technologist program at Olds College in 2025, and moved to Rocky shortly after. Although she enjoys the wide variety of creatures that come into the clinic, she has a particular passion for large animal medicine.

In her free time, Micah loves being outdoors hiking, camping, downhill skiing, paddle boarding, traveling, or just exploring the mountains.

Receptionists/Animal Health Assistants

Gale
Gale grew up on a mixed farm in a small town in Saskatchewan. Grain farming wasn't her passion, but the animals certainly were. She was horse crazy and that led her to a diploma in Western Horsemanship. She has been working at CWVC since 1993, which makes her feel a little "long in the tooth" but she still loves her job and looks forward to each day! She says her co-workers and our amazing clients make this place feel like home and she loves the variety that each day brings. She lives on an acreage with her wonderful family and their furry friends. She has 2 horses, a Border Collie, a Rex bunny and 2 cats (from ROAR of course!). She enjoys horseback riding, hiking, biking and pretty much anything outdoors in our beautiful west country.

Amanda
Amanda grew up on a mixed farm in southern Alberta where her family ran a cheese production factory. After graduating with a diploma in Agriculture Production/Artificial Insemination in 2006, she spent several years working in bovine artificial insemination as a laboratory technician. Deciding to follow her love of medicine, she joined a small animal veterinary practice where she became passionate about surgery, post-surgical patient care/rehab, and new puppy education. She then joined the Clearwater Vet team in January of 2018 and has loved working here ever since!

Amanda enjoys photography, dancing, working with young horses, and showing in dog sports. Amanda also has a certified pet therapy dog, and together they visit the local seniors home.

Jana
Jana originally hails from a quaint town in Germany and came to Canada in 2017. After spending 6 months doing work experience with the clinic, she joined the team in 2019. She really enjoys working with clients, helping with clinic inventory, and has a very soft spot for baby animals of all species!

When not at the clinic, her hobbies include dancing, hiking, kayaking, and horseback riding. Jana also loves spending time with the love of her life husband Mike, and her furry kids - 2 dogs and 2 cats.

Bryn
Bryn is our dedicated, always smiling kennel staff! She started as a volunteer worker through high school and continues to be here for us lending a hand anywhere and everywhere around the clinic. Bryn has grown up on an acreage just outside of Rocky Mountain House with her parents, younger brother, and numerous furry family members. Bryn is currently pursuing her future career as Veterinarian at the University of Saskatchewan!

In her free time, Bryn enjoys playing piano, swimming, and working with her border collie Breeze in agility and other dog sports.

Lorisa
Lorisa completed the Veterinary Technical Assistant course at Olds College and is now part of our Clearwater team since 2024! She has always been passionate about caring for animals of all species and sizes. Lorisa has many animals, including two dogs, four cats, a tortoise, many geckos and a brood of chickens. With a growing farm, Lorisa is eager to learn all there is to know about animals.

Lisa
Lisa has been with the Clearwater Team since 2022 as a wonderful kennel attendant. She is very passionate about all animals, and brings wonderful tender loving care to all patients at the clinic. In her spare time, Lisa enjoys trail riding, raising registered quarter horses and corgis, and spending time with family and friends!
